Back to Basics

Being busy with school and work, its hard to dress like a fashionista everyday. So, I've really been into dressing simple on my most hectic days. Putting together the basics is all I really need to look presentable and feel comfortable. You can never go wrong with a simple botton top and a pair of jeans. Throwing on a accessory or a good pair of shoes can really top everything off. I have also been obsessed with the preppy style because it is conservative, attractive, and very well respected.
Time to work hard and have a productive week!

Working in Retail

Summer of 2014, I finally had gotten a job that I had interest in and was beyond excited to start. I worked in a department store that had many other stores around the Island of Bermuda. Working in retail was the perfect job for me since I am interested in fashion. I went into retail completely blind folded and who knew working in retail has changed me in many ways. The first thing I had notice about A.S. Coopers was that everyone was kind in their own way, I was trained by more than one manager and I learned something unique from each of them. Unfortunately, I didn't learn as fast as the other employees but over time I started to pick things up and understand customers needs.
Like every job/career, there was faults and times I wanted to completely give up but I knew I had a love for it, just took time to show it.
I met so many different kinds of people and I was trained to understand all the different personalities. You have to have a open mind when working in retail because your not going to agree with everyone so you work to understand and then come to an agreement.
Customers are your bosses and as hard as it sounds, you have to make the strangers happy, regardless of how they treat you. Dealing with customers has a taught me how to deal with people outside of the stores.
Working in retail is also all about team work. Learning to communicate and get along with your coworkers is extremely important. When everyone is getting along, the team becomes stronger and so does sales.
Overall, working in retail has giving me a strong backbone and has prepared me for most situations in  the outside world. Even though there can be more bad times than good, it is best to work through it because it will only make you stronger.
